Tonight I made a sphere stand that looks like the One Ring from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings series. It was actually pretty simple. I used an image transfer technique to put the inscription onto my clay which I then formed into the ring shape. There are quite a few descriptions of this method online so I won't go into details here except to say that it required a photocopy (toner-based image). Sadly, I had to visit Kinkos twice because I forgot to reverse the inscription on my first copy.

The One Ring
