
Polymer clay,
faux gemstones, and a clearance-priced glass Christmas ornament went into this medieval-themed decoration. There were a few disasters associated with making this. For instance, I hung it from an oven rack rather than lay it down (didn't want any flat spots) and the bottom turned black because of proximity to the heating element. Thus, I had to cut that off, recover it, and bake it on its side (which was fine once the sides had hardened in the first firing.) I still have to neaten it up and polish it.
