Family Art Night

It's time for Family Art Night at my kids' school. It may seem funny that I advocated for and run this event even though I profess to have no artistic skill. My kids love art and I know that, for some children, artistic skill is the thing of which they are most proud. Yet this is rarely acknowledged. We had math night, science night, and foreign language night but nothing that appealed to this often forgotten sect of kids.

This evening includes dessert which has been turned into one of the art activities of the evening. Last year we did gorgeous cupcakes. There were animals, bugs, and all kinds of abstract themed cupcakes. Set kids loose with toppings and colored frostings and you have a hit.

This year, we're going dessert sushi. Sushi has become like an art form and we're capitalizing on this. Evil Mad Scientist, Family Fun, and Brownie Points all added to the pool of inspiration. We're still considering what kind of base to use. I'm leaning toward rice crispie bases because the kids can mold them if they really want to and we can always whip up more if we need them. I have a growing list of inspired topping ingredients on my refrigerator and the kids think I'm making the world's most odd shopping list because it's almost exclusively sweets.

Hubby and I seem to be suffering some sort of food poisoning. It was a long night and though I feel better, I can't help but feel like I've been purged of negative influences. When you feel absolutely disgusting and begin to feel better, the former can be an ample juxtaposition to normal life so as to make regular days seem fantastic. Sometimes you need to feel terrible for a bit if for no other reason than to make ordinary life less bland.

Sorry you've not been well. Hope the sushi turns out okay, and I'd like to see what else you get up to on art night. (Fab idea)

obviously like your web site but you need to test the spelling
on quite a few of your posts. Many of them are rife with spelling problems and
I in finding it very troublesome to tell the truth then again I will definitely come back again.

My programmer is trying to convince me to move to .net from PHP.
I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses.

But he's tryiong none the less. I've been using Movable-type on various websites for about a year and am anxious
about switching to another platform. I have heard very good
things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can import all my wordpress content into it?

Any help would be really appreciated!
